Hot Yoga for Young Athletes: Move Better, Recover Faster, Prevent Injuries

The lesson that lasts…

A lifetime

A special class for teen & tween athletes with Thrive co-founder Jenny O'Laughlin

If your child plays a sport, their body is doing a lot.

Practices. Games. Training sessions. Tournaments. Then another season starts before the last one ends.

Young athletes pour countless hours into building strength, endurance, and sport-specific skills, and that work matters. But there's one part of the equation that almost always gets overlooked: flexibility, mobility, recovery, and body awareness.

That's the part that keeps a body healthy for the long run. And that's exactly where yoga comes in.

Why this class, why now

On Saturday, June 6th, Jenny O'Laughlin is leading a special hot yoga class designed specifically for teen and tween athletes, ages 10–18.

It's built around the things a young, busy, growing athlete actually needs:

  • Improved flexibility and range of motion

  • Better balance, stability, and core strength

  • A lower risk of common sports injuries

  • Faster, more effective recovery between practices and competitions

  • Sharper focus and mental resilience under pressure

  • Better body awareness and movement patterns

Soccer, hockey, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, golf, swimming, dance, track. Whatever your child plays, this class supports both their performance now and their health for years down the road.

A note from Jenny

"I wish I had discovered these tools as a young athlete. Learning how to move, recover, and care for your body early can make a huge difference, both in sports and in life."

— Jenny O'Laughlin, Co-Founder

The best athletes don't just train harder. They learn how to move better, recover better, and take care of their bodies for the long run. We'd love to help the next generation discover that early.

How to reserve a spot (two easy ways)

Already a Thrive member? You can add your teen to your Wellness Living profile and book the class right from your member account.

Comfortable booking online? You can also reserve directly through our WellnessLiving page here.

Either way, a parent or guardian completes the registration and waiver before class. No yoga experience required, and you do not need to be a Thrive student to join.

Invest in longevity

We talk a lot about meeting yourself at your honest edge: moving only as far as your body allows that day, and getting 100% of the posture right there. That lesson is a gift at any age. For a young athlete, learning it now can change how they treat their body for the rest of their lives.

Questions about whether this class is right for your young athlete? Email Jenny anytime at jenny@thrivehotyoga.com. She's always happy to help.
