"I have recently completed the 60 day challenge and can't believe what an incredible journey it has been. Over this past year I have been through so many major life changes; moving, getting married and I also had a "milestone" birthday. I wanted to make a positive change in my health and fitness so when I heard about the challenges and Bikram's bold statement that 60 days would change my life, I felt compelled to go for it. At first I struggled with soreness and my muscles actually getting tighter. I asked several of the instructors about what I was experiencing and they assured me it was normal. Soon I began really getting into the challenge - I got Bikram's book so I could learn more about the postures. I even researched consumer reports on yoga mat towels to make sure I was getting a good one. I also started mixing the apple cider vinegar and honey drink which seemed more like a salad dressing than an electrolyte replacement beverage at first. Mid-challenge, I was getting a bit frustrated as I felt that my practice was not progressing enough and the weight was not coming off quick enough (especially since I dropped 10 pounds pretty easily during my 30 day new student trial and I did not go every day). Again, I spoke to the instructors about my concerns and again, they reassured me and told me not to worry. Now that I have completed the Challenge, I have noticed several wonderful changes. My skin has cleared up, I have gotten stronger, I've been sleeping better, and yes, I have dropped some pounds!! I know that the improvements will keep coming as I continue my practice. It's great that so many students and instructors took on the Challenge. It was motivating to talk to other students and know that we're all in it together and were experiencing similar things."

"Lost 10 Pounds in 10 Sessions in 10 Days. Today was my 35th session at Bikram Yoga Studio at Farmington Hills. I'm doing the 60 Day Challenge. The main reason why I came to Bikram Yoga was to obtain the chance to improve the flexibility of my right knee. I believe the case of this issue with my right knee was because of a lack of exercise and the aging of my body. I decided to take the Yoga Challenge to get my body fit again in a proper way by doing Bikram Yoga. So far, I'm satisfied with my progress with my knee. At least it is showing much progress towards my goal. At the same time, I found out I lost an unexpected 10 pounds of my weight during 10 sessions in my first 10 days. I cannot consider that I have a weight issue, but when one of our instructors asked me, "Russ, did you lose weight?" I noticed that it was probably a good thing to have a flat stomach. Besides losing 10 pounds and achieving progress with more flexibility in my right knee, I feel more energized and happy with the ability to solve my health issues without taking medication and dealing with the side effects. I also met a lot of interesting people there who inspired me by their achievements and passions especially by running marathons. Some of them have even accomplished 17 marathons. Wow!
